Besides developing innovative homeland security solutions, HTX is also keenly focused on growing the community of science and technology talents in Singapore. One way we have done so is by lending our support to the new Skills Pathway for Cybersecurity, which was launched at the SkillsFuture Forum on 9 July 2024.
Developed by the Singapore Computer Society in collaboration with founding employers including HTX, and supported by the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) and Association of Information Security Professionals (AiSP), this initiative offers guidance for individuals aspiring to enter cybersecurity roles in HTX and other organisations, including mid-career individuals looking to transit into the cybersecurity field.
These roles include: Cyber Security Operations Centre (SOC) Analyst, Cyber Penetration Tester, Cyber Incident Response and Forensic Analyst, and Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst.
In our role as one of the 13 founding employers of this new initiative, HTX contributed to the pathway’s guidelines by sharing the training requirements that we are advocating internally to upskill our own cyber workforce, said Yau Chen Hui, deputy director of HTX’s xCybersecurity.
“The domain of cybersecurity is maturing rapidly and there has been an increasing number of specialist roles being made available. This initiative will be useful for potential HTX apprentices and new entrants looking to enter various cybersecurity roles in HTX,” said Chen Hui.
“Through this collaboration with the cybersecurity fraternity in the public and private sectors, HTX hopes the pathway can advance the cybersecurity sector in Singapore and drive cybersecurity upskilling culture,” he added.
Current HTX employees in cybersecurity roles and cybersecurity professionals in the Home Team can also refer to the Pathway to identify training courses and certifications for their professional upskilling, which will be critical to keeping up with new and increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.
