[FEATURED NEWS] Up close with HTX at the Home Team Festival

Safety Evolved – from 24-26th November 2023, HTX participated in our first ever Home Team Festival (HTF) where members of the public got up close and personal with our cutting-edge technology and people. If you missed the event, we’ve got you covered with a sneak peek into the excitement that was HTF.

Saving lives

Meet our very own in-house (robo) dog, Rover-X! As man’s best friend, it helps keep our Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) officers safe during HazMat operations. Rover-X comes pre-built with special sensors that detect HazMat levels and can move through rugged terrain. During HazMat operations, Rover-X greatly reduces the chemical exposure risk for our front-line SCDF officers by aiding with initial scene assessments and continuously monitoring chemical concentration levels. Have you ever wanted to walk a robo-dog? At HTF 2023, members of the public got to experience the thrill of taking Rover-X’s little brother, Spirit-40, on a walk. (Photo: HTX)

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s a…drone? Imagine being stuck in the midst of a HazMat disaster, unable to be reached by front-line officers. It might seem hopeless, but HTX’s drone, HTUAV, can deliver emergency supplies such as Automated External Defibrillators straight to you. Furthermore, HTUAV comes equipped with a radiation detector that generates a live radiation heat map to help our front-line officers plan their rescue operation and accurately monitor the situation on the ground. Solving crimes

Unleash your inner Tom Cruise and hop on HTX’s X-Roader! The X-Roader is an electric all-terrain vehicle that helps our Home Team officers plough through rough terrain to respond to off-road situations more quickly. The X-Roader is also configurable and can be equipped with various accessories, like an electrically powered cart that lets rescue officers bring civilians to safety. (Photo: HTX)

Step into the future of crime-solving! HTX’s 3D Scanning equipment creates digital replicas of crime scenes, unlocking a whole new virtual realm of investigation. Within these digital landscapes, investigative officers can step back in time and walk through the heart of the crime scene, unravelling mysteries and generating leads to secure real-world justice. At HTF, we gave members of the public a sneak peek at our 3D scanner, allowing them to create their very own digital replicas of the objects on display. (Photo: HTX)

Securing our borders

If you’ve ever driven from Singapore to Malaysia, you have probably waited for hours in the snaking queue at Woodlands Checkpoint. While this is frustrating, our Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) officers must manually check the identity of people entering the country to keep us safe. This process is not only tedious for ICA officers but for you too. Hence, HTX has revolutionised cross-border clearance with the Automated Passenger Clearance System (APCS). With APCS, your identity can be verified immediately via scanning a QR code and having your biometrics automatically captured. (Photo: HTX)

Immigration clearance at Changi Airport is already efficient as we can pass through automated lanes that only require us to scan our passports and faces. However, what if we could make immigration clearance even more efficient? Introducing, HTX’s Next-Generation Border Clearance Technology. This cutting-edge Biometric Clearance Lane captures your biometrics as you walk forward, allowing you to walk through the automated lane without stopping! (Photo: HTX)

Fun for the family
