HTX’s role as a force multiplier for the Home Team often extends beyond contributing innovations that enhance homeland security, and this was again demonstrated when it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Yellow Ribbon Singapore
(YRSG) on 14 August 2024.
A fellow statutory board under the Ministry of Home Affairs, YRSG provides skills and career development opportunities to ex-offenders and helps them reintegrate into society.
The MoU will see HTX handle YRSG’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) functions starting on 14 August 2024. This move is part of YRSG’s digital transformation journey and will allow the organisation to achieve better compliance with IM8 policies and governance.
IM8, or Instruction Manual for ICT&SS Management, provides guidance on best-in-class practices to uplift ICT capabilities in governmental agencies.
The objectives of the MoU include optimising the provision of technical support to end-users, improving YRSG’s overall IT security, and enhancing its capability and agility in adopting and sustaining digital transformation to improve operational efficiency and enhance employee engagement.
“On behalf of YRSG, I extend our deep appreciation to HTX Chief Executive Chan Tsan and our HTX colleagues for their strong support and collaboration in bringing this Memorandum of Understanding to fruition. We warmly welcome HTX as a key partner in YRSG's digital transformation journey,” said YRSG CEO Sunny Lee.
“HTX’s expertise will be invaluable in supporting our ICT requirements and enhancing our capabilities, enabling us to better deliver on our mission while ensuring digital security.”
HTX Chief Executive Chan Tsan said that YRSG’s mission of providing second chances to ex-offenders is one that resonates with HTX, which had in 2020 established a café within its premises in collaboration with The Caffeine Experience, a social enterprise for ex-offenders. This is part of HTX’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) efforts.
“I would like to thank YRSG for placing its faith in HTX. We will do our utmost to enhance the capabilities of YRSG in this digital era and help it grow the positive impact it is making on society,” he said.
“HTX is an organisation that prides itself on putting its people first and YRSG’s mission is one that is very much aligned to our values. We are delighted and proud that we will get to play a role in the rehabilitation journey of ex-offenders.”
