SINGAPORE, 3 April 2024 – HTX is bringing together cutting-edge homeland security innovations that will enhance Singapore’s safety and security, at the HTX Pavilion at Milipol Asia-Pacific–TechX Summit, which will take place from 3 to 5 April 2024. The HTX Pavilion, showcasing HTX’s innovations and solutions from key industry partners, such as ST Engineering, IDEMIA and Microsoft, demonstrates the synergistic partnership between the Government and Industry to develop a strong homeland security ecosystem in Singapore.

ST Engineering will be showcasing AUTONOMAST, an all-in-one modular system with AI-powered capabilities designed to quickly convert any crewed vessel into an Uncrewed Surface Vessel. They will also showcase a sensemaking and command and control system that leverages AI, Machine Learning algorithms and predictive analytics to enable seamless collaboration between government agencies.

IDEMIA will showcase solutions to help border control and law enforcement agencies enforce national security. One of its solutions is the Automated Mark AFIS Quality (AMAQ), a novel approach to assess the quality of latent fingerprint images, and hence help determine their suitability and usability as forensic evidence.

“Having our key industry partners exhibit in the HTX Pavilion is a strong testimony of their commitment to work with the Home Team to advance science and technology to keep Singapore safe and secure. I am confident that the partnership between HTX and our industry partners will propel our pursuit and development of the next generation of security solutions, and ready us to address emerging threats and challenges,” said Mr Chan Tsan, CEO of HTX, who is concurrently the Deputy Secretary (Development) of Singapore’s Ministry of Home Affairs.

HTX’s innovations will be showcased at the HTX Zone, where visitors can immerse themselves in an experiential journey to understand how science and technology is applied in the Home Team to secure borders, safeguard public spaces, solve crimes, and save lives.

Some highlights include:

  • AlchemiX. Alchemix is a cutting-edge AI tool designed to detect signs of deepfake in audio or video recordings. Users can upload media files onto Alchemix through a user-friendly interface, where AI models are then utilised to scrutinise for any indications of deepfake.
  • Biometrics Self-Enrolment Kiosk. The Biometrics Self-Enrolment Kiosk is a self-help kiosk that allows users to enrol face, iris and rolled fingerprint biometrics.
  • Identification on the Move. Identification on the Move is a platform that utilises face and iris scanning at range and dual-modal biometric matching at speed to transform today’s biometric identification process into a seamless walk-through experience.
  • Insect-Hybrid Robot. The Insect Hybrid Robot, equipped with a tiny chip and battery ‘backpack’, is able to navigate through tight spaces autonomously and detect heat from human bodies, providing aid to search-and-rescue teams in their search for survivors in a pile of rubble. The innovative use of insect-hybrid robot will protect frontline responders and augment the Home Team’s life-saving capabilities.
  • Launch of the first Electric Pump Ladder. The Electric Pump Ladder, Singapore’s first electric emergency vehicle, will be launched by Minister for Home Affairs and for Law, Mr K Shanmugam, and Second Minister for Home Affairs, Mrs Josephine Teo, on 3 April 2024. The Electric Pump Ladder is a collaboration between HTX, the Singapore Civil Defence Force and S. K. Rosenbauer. With this launch, Singapore becomes the first country in the region to operate the Electric Pump Ladder.
